Mannsville Grange Meeting April 15, 1940

Another clipping from  the 1939-41 scrapbook kept by former Mannsville School teacher Miss Marion Pike. Ms. Pike’s relatives donated the scrapbook to the library in December 2022. It is on display in the library and visitors are free to go though it and maybe find a little piece of their own family history.

April Bookclub Date Change

The bookclub will meet April 1, 2023 instead of on our usual second Saturday. This is to accommodate our Easter Egg Hunt which will be held on April 8. We will be discussing My Own Words by Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Austen’s Market, Mannsville, around 1939

A clipping from the scrapbook kept by Mannsville High School history teacher Miss Marion Pike. Ms. Pike taught at Mannsville from 1936 until about 1944. Her scrapbook for those years was donated to Mannsville Free Library by her cousin Ms. Lydia L. Birr of Hilton, New York. Underneath this clipping Ms. Pike noted that Oren Austen,  was her student in 1937 and was a “nice kid.”

March 2023 Bookclub Meeting

The Bookclub meets again on March 11 at 9:00 AM. We will be discussing Mitch Albom’s Tuesdays with Morrie. Next month’s meeting has been moved to April 1 to accommodate the Easter Egg Hunt!

Easter Egg Hunt 2023!

Our annual Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday April 8, 2023. There are TWO timeslots this year. Your child must registered for either the 10 AM hunt or the Noon hunt. Call the library at 315-465-4049, or stop in to register your child.
