The Mannsville Free Library is grateful for the community’s continued support. The library uses donations to help give back to the community by offering programs, materials, and services. There are many ways that you can support our library.
Most importantly, visit us! Without patrons a library is just a building. The best way to support Mannsville Free Library is to use it often. Every visit counts toward funding. And we enjoy and appreciate every single one. Remember that you can visit to access the collection, to attend a program, to look up a reference, to research your genealogy, or to simply come in and sit a spell.
Give to the library through the Northern New York Community Foundation dedicated endowment fund.
One of the most effective ways to support the library is by giving through Mannsville Free Library’s dedicated endowment fund at Northern New York Community Foundation.
Established in February 2023, the endowment creates an ongoing source of income, consisting of an invested pool of money that provides a reliable source of income from which Mannsville Free Library can count on an increasingly greater annual distribution for its mission.
An endowment fund can grow and provide support for its designated purpose in perpetuity. By contributing to the endowment fund, you create a permanent legacy of support for the Mannsville Free Library and its mission to engage the community in life-long learning for all by providing equal access to information, technology, gathering spaces, and knowledgeable staff.
An endowment fund is a dedicated, permanent, self-sustaining source of funding. Because endowment assets are invested each year, only a portion of the value of the fund is paid out to support the fund’s purpose; any earnings in excess of this distribution are used to build the fund’s value.
An endowment fund also grows over time with additional gifts from multiple donors. As part of a portfolio of funds managed by Northern New York Community Foundation, the Mannsville Free Library Endowment Fund is now in a position to receive gifts from NNYCF benefactors looking to invest in the community.

Additional Ways to Support the Library
You can donate money directly to the library. Any donation to the library is greatly appreciated and you can be sure that it will be used in a way that best serves the library, whether that be for expanding the collection or for programming or for just keeping the lights on. The Board and staff try to make every dollar go as far as possible and we thank you for any donation you can give.
Donate books to and shop in our Dick Pearson Bookshed. Every dollar you spend there serves the library in its various needs–and you get to take home a back of books for your trouble! The stock is constantly changing — check it out whenever the library is open and the weather cooperates. If you’d like to donate, please bring a bag or box of your items (limit of two, please) to the library during open hours. Items should be clean, relatively new, and in good condition. Items that are moldy, stained, musty smelling, or in poor shape cannot be accepted.
